Loop video
Repeat video clips several times in a row as a single file, without uploading them. When the codecs allow, every play is copied without re-encoding, so the loop keeps the original quality.
Runs on your device. Your files never leave your browser.
How to use the video looper
- 01Choose your video file, or drop it onto the box.
- 02Set how many times the clip should play, from 2 to 10.
- 03Click Loop video, then download the looped file.
How the loop is made
When your clip's codecs can go into MP4 as they are (H.264 or HEVC video, AAC or MP3 sound) or into WebM (VP8, VP9 or AV1 video, Opus or Vorbis sound), the looper copies the clip's compressed data once for each play, shifting the timing so each play follows the last. Nothing is decoded or re-encoded, so even ten plays take little work and lose no quality.
Other clips are re-encoded once, to H.264 and AAC in MP4 or to VP9 and Opus in WebM, and that result is then copied for each play. The same happens to a clip that starts with a hidden lead-in, such as one cut with the trimmer's Fast mode, because those hidden frames cannot be repeated by copying without showing up in the middle of the loop. Either re-encode needs your browser to decode the clip and encode video; where it cannot, the tool says so before you start.
Getting a smooth join between plays
Each play lasts exactly as long as the clip's picture, and the next play starts where it ends. Any sound that runs past the last frame is dropped, so the sound stays in step with the picture through every repeat.
Whether the join looks seamless depends on the clip itself: if the last frame and the first frame are close, the repeat is hard to spot. Trimming the clip to start and end on similar frames before looping it makes the biggest difference. A clip that plays forwards and then backwards, made with the reverse and merge tools, joins far more smoothly, since each play ends close to the frame the next one begins with.
Limits
The clip can play from 2 to 10 times, where 3 means the clip three times in a row, not the clip plus three repeats. The looped result is capped at 30 minutes in total, so a long clip allows fewer plays: a 5 minute clip can play up to 6 times.

Questions about the video looper
- Does looping a video lose quality?
- Not when the clip's codecs can be copied into MP4 or WebM: each play is copied without re-encoding. Other clips, provided your browser can decode them, are re-encoded once, which costs a small amount of quality, and that copy is then repeated.
- How many times can a video loop?
- From 2 to 10 plays, as long as the looped result runs no more than 30 minutes.
- Can I make a GIF that loops forever instead?
- For an animation that repeats on its own for as long as it is shown, the video to GIF converter makes an endlessly looping GIF from a clip of up to 15 seconds. It has no sound and is limited to 256 colours per frame.
- Is my video uploaded?
- No. The loop is made in your browser; your video, and the looped copy, never leave your device.
